SYSGO today reports the porting of ELinOS for Hitachi SH3 and MIPS processors. This brings ELinOS, the leading development environment for embedded Linux, into the area of microprocessors for communication applications and consumer electronics.
Since MIPS and SH3 processors are primarily used in price-sensitive products, embedded Linux is the operating system of choice. The ELinOS development environment also provides an easy way for OEMs to bring their Linux-based products to market quickly and cost-effectively.
MIPS and SH3 processors have low power consumption combined with high performance and are therefore predestined for use in the embedded market. Due to the extraordinarily scalable architecture of these microprocessors, semiconductor manufacturers have a wide spectrum for different applications, whether industrial or multimedia terminals, as well as consumer electronics.
SYSGO offers ELinOS, a development environment for embedded Linux applications. The product contains tools and support that facilitate the development of applications with low memory requirements and enable the use of Linux on minimal systems. ELinOS is available for X86, PPC, ARM, MIPS and SH3.
SYSGO was founded in 1991. The company specialises in the development, implementation and customer-oriented customization of system software for embedded systems with a particular focus on operating system environments.
