"We are very pleased to join SYSGO's booth at the Embedded World 2007. It is a great opportunity for ESG to demonstrate the transfer between the avionics and automotive technologies", says Frank Nies, Head of Center of Competence Automotive. "We are proud to host our customer ESG at the Embedded World. Their excellent backround in automotive and aerospace applications helps us adjusting our product roadmaps to the future needs of these markets", says Michael Tiedemann, SYSGO's sales Director Northern Europe.
ESG will give a live demonstration at the SYSGO booth presenting the capabilities of PikeOS in conjunction with ESG's automotive application knowledge. The solution is an insight view of how to enable a car gateway incorporating critical real-time applications as well as commodity features on one hardware platform using SYSGO's separation microkernel real-time operating system, PikeOS.
The PikeOS platform used in the gateway will run a control application to control the stearing of an RC car on a treadmill, will concurrently control the treadmill itself and also communicate to a host PC. The PikeOS gateway will communicate with the RC car using the latest wireless technology ZigBee and will communicate via FlexRay to the host system. The RC car is monitored by a camera which video output runs through an object recognition on the host PC. The RC car's positioning information will then be transferred to the PikeOS gateway using the FlexRay connection. A separate stearing wheel is also connected to the PikeOS gateway to enable an asysnchronous user interaction.

About ESG
ESG counts most European car manufacturers and numerous component suppliers amongst its customers. ESG develops electronic and software systems, maintains prototypes and series vehicles, provides consulting on processes and methods and trains personnel for these customers. ESG supports its customers in the vehicle development phase, during introduction onto the market and with respect to after-sales service.
As process partner, ESG controls processes even beyond company confines. ESG's software solutions range from integrated information systems to part authorisation systems. As an engineering service provider, the company assumes tasks including, for example, on-board network development, requirements management and flash verification. In this respect, ESG covers all electronic system development tasks within the V model standard. In cooperation with ESG's subsidiary ServiceXpert GmbH, ESG comprehensively deals with diagnosis process chain requirements by way of full service coverage. An additional advantage of ESG is its strength in other business areas apart from the automotive area. Especially the technological transfer between the avionics and the automotive area enables ESG to be one step ahead.
